peace camp 2025: Peace Campers Tell Their Stories
June 16-20, 2025
9 AM - 2 PM daily
All campers should have received an email with important information about the week of camp. If you did not, please contact Pastor Jennie ASAP (pastor@bethlehem-chicago.org). The letter can also be accessed here.
For over a decade, Peace Camp has been teaching kids the skills they need to be peacemakers in their community and world. This year we are excited to partner with Peace Camp Chicago as we explore how peace makers tell their stories and honor the stories of others.
At Peace Camp kids learn peaceful conflict resolution skills, how to be a good friend, and how to calm down big feelings. Each day includes peace circles, yoga, art, conflict resolution workshops, and a lot of fun! Each day includes a snack and campers bring a sack lunch.
The week includes a field trip. This year we will be returning to Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center in Olympia Fields, IL. The younger students will enjoy nature based activities while the older students explore team building, including crate building.
Peace Camp is for all kids entering grades 1st - 6th in the fall. The fee is $100 per camper, with scholarships available. Middle School students (entering 7th-9th grades) are welcome to register to serve as junior leaders in training for $35. The registration fee includes the field trip and a Peace Camp t-shirt. Scholarships are available. Scholarship recipients will need a code at check out. Email Pastor Jennie before registering if you are interested in a scholarship.
Registration opens for Bethlehem members on February 18 and for the public on March 1. Registration closes May 23. A wait list will be created if registration fills early. Please be sure to contact Pastor Jennie (email below) to have your child placed on the wait list.
Peace Camp is based in a Christian theology of justice, mercy, and God's abundant love for all. Peace Camp is open to children of all religious backgrounds.
