Sunday school classes for children at Bethlehem begin with preschool and continue through sixth grade. Classes are organized into thematic units and use art, role play, drama, reading, music, puppetry, movie clips and even edible creations to teach children about God and God's important place in each of their lives. Classes emphasize the important role children play in the church, in the community, and in the world.
Preschool and Early Primary Students
Our dedicated volunteer educators bring the Bible to life for our preschool and early primary students, fostering exploratory discovery of God's message. This year, for example, the children were visited by Moses, carrying the stone tablets and engaging the children in conversation about his experience of God – sharing the message that God takes loving care of and has great plans for all!
Advanced Elementary Age Students
Our advanced elementary age students use journaling and a question-based approach to exploring faith and faith stories in the Bible, with an increasing focus on life application. The curriculum grows with the maturation of our students to keep them engaged in learning and growing in faith.
Our volunteer educators are enthusiastic, engaging and create an environment that is both fun and focused. We are extremely fortunate to have educators with considerable expertise and advanced degrees in childhood curriculum and education.
